Meanwhile, a citizens group called Worcester for Woogle is trying to bring the network to the second-largest city in Massachusetts — Shrewsbury’s larger, next-door neighbor.
“Shrewsbury’s smaller than what Google’s looking for,’’ said Scott Zoback, communications director for state Senator Harriette Chandler, who has helped mobilize citizens and city officials to put together a bid.
“We have everything that Google is looking for,’’ Zoback said. “We’re the right-sized city. We have a very diverse group of industries.’’

Woogle gets mention in Globe
The Boston Globe covered the Google efforts of towns around the state today, and Worcester got a key mention.
